The City of Delta's OUTDOOR HERITAGE DAY is Saturday, June 3rd from 10am-2pm at Confluence Park in Delta just outside the Bill Heddles Recreation Center. This year's Fishing Derby, in partnership with Gunnison Gorge Anglers, will be held from 8:30-10am am for kids 16 and under. Kids bring your fishing pole but if you don't have one, we will do our best to find you one. There will be Exhibitors highlighting outdoor sports and recreation for all ages. Outdoor Heritage Day showcases opportunities for outdoor activities available here in Western Colorado. The great outdoors is for everyone. It is our heritage, and our future. We can learn new ways to enjoy it and take care of it as well. We encourage everyone, especially kids and their families, to come out and join the fun. We estimate that there will be approximately 20 exhibitors made up of outdoor groups, sports groups, governmental agencies, and outdoor related businesses ... all dedicated partners with a passion for the great outdoors. Smokey Bear and Elroy Elk will be on hand as well for interactive games; Educational demonstrations will be going on throughout the event. There will be drawings and prizes with DJ music. Lunch will be provided for participants.
